Fool In The Rain, #379

Standard

To write about the weather may seem a little mundane to most, but when you live in Tucson, AZ and you have the coldest 4th of July in history, it is a big deal.  It is so hot here during the summer, and our average temperatures were about 105 or 106 for a few weeks.  The heat begins to get to you, and all of Tucson begins praying for our monsoon season to cool things off.

Well yesterday, the sky opened up, and Mother Nature showed us her pure force.  It was awesome, and though I spent most of my 4th of July indoors and feeling completely lazy with the rain pounding on my skylights, by the time the party rolled around that we were headed to, the rain had stopped and the weather was awesome!  We sat outdoors to watch the fireworks, and I actually felt like I needed a jacket.  What a welcomed feeling that I haven’t experienced in a couple of months!

Yesterday was a little miracle, and I know that I am not alone in feeling that way.  Waking up today and seeing that our forecast is giving us a high of 93 degrees is like a breath of fresh air.  So, as a thank you to Mother Nature, my song today is “Fool in the Rain” by Led Zeppelin.    It’s such a good song, and it describes how I am feeling….like a delirious fool in the rain!  Here’s the link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2015S3A-lg  Enjoy the cooler temps, Tucson!

About tucsonsongstress

I am a music teacher for children ages 6-weeks-old - 8th grade. I am also a camp songleader and a Jewish music specialist with and without my husband who is known as Shabbat Scott. We love singing with people of all ages all over Tucson. My "song of the day" idea originally started by playing music challenges on Facebook. I loved choosing songs, and my friends seemed to love reading and listening to my choices. I have decided to continue a daily blog (or as daily as I can manage) and tell you all some stories through some songs that have touched me either in wonderful ways or by annoying the heck out of me. Hope you all enjoy this blog! Happy singing!
