Procrastination, #469

Standard

Yesterday, I had a couple of unexpected hours with nothing to do.  It is has been an extraordinarily busy couple of weeks, and as a result, our house is a mess!  Oh….I know just how much I could have gotten done in the 3 hours that I had off in the middle of the day.  There is so much that could have been accomplished in that time, but what did I do?  Sleep!  Usually, I take 15 minute cat naps and am ready to go for the rest of the day.  So I had no idea that when I closed my eyes, they wouldn’t be opening up again for another 2 hours.

I guess being busy catches up with you.  I typically run on 5-1/2 hours of sleep each night, and I manage to get by.  There are  little breaks in the day though that allow me those little cat naps.  This has not been so lately though.  I guess I didn’t realize just how much I need those little breaks.

At the end of the day yesterday, I did manage to get a little cleaning done, and today, I have plans in the afternoon.  The morning is already slipping away from me and ugggghhhhhhh…..when, oh when, can I possibly manage to get all of my chores done?  I am an admitted procrastinator.  Please take me by the hand and slap it.  Hard.  Just to get me going.

Blog must get done immediately so I can get some work done!  My song of the day was an unfinished song by Amy Winehouse written and mostly recorded before she died.  I read that it will never be released, but I found the song on Youtube.  It is a shame that such a talented artist died so young, so I loved listening to her music to allow her memory to live on.  Click HERE to go to Youtube to hear her sing about procrastinating, a subject that I know about too well.  Now, blog, friends….I am off!  Hopefully to end my procrastination streak.

About tucsonsongstress

I am a music teacher for children ages 6-weeks-old - 8th grade. I am also a camp songleader and a Jewish music specialist with and without my husband who is known as Shabbat Scott. We love singing with people of all ages all over Tucson. My "song of the day" idea originally started by playing music challenges on Facebook. I loved choosing songs, and my friends seemed to love reading and listening to my choices. I have decided to continue a daily blog (or as daily as I can manage) and tell you all some stories through some songs that have touched me either in wonderful ways or by annoying the heck out of me. Hope you all enjoy this blog! Happy singing!
