My kids are full-fledged basketball players y’all, and yesterday was their very first basketball game ever. We had never even played basketball with them before, but a few weeks ago, we signed up for a basketball league. Wow! It is so much fun for all of us! I am so glad they are a part of it, and I can stop raving about every little aspect of the experience.
Their coach is the most dedicated and nice guy. He cares about their skills, but essentially wants them to have fun above anything else. Already, the little team of 5 – 8-year-olds is bonding and you could see the look of determination on their faces as they realized there would be a winner as a result of the game.
It was close….21 to 18. My kids’ team lost, but we are so proud. I have never really been a sports-minded person, but I watched that game in such detail because my kids were a part of it. They have a lot of work to do, and my husband has been taking them to the park each weekend to help them improve. If they can just learn to not dribble the ball out-of-bounds, we’ll feel really good. Ha!
So, every Sunday between now and the end of the year, we’ll be a b-ball family, and trust me, this Mama will be cheering her head off from the bleachers! Way to go black team!!!!! My song of the day has energy and spirit, and I hope it rubs off on my kiddos. “Jump Around” by House of Pain is perfect for my little basketballers, so click HERE to go to Youtube to hear the song.
