In years past, we usually take off the day after Thanksgiving and go out-of-town for a three-day weekend. This year, we stayed home, because we had so many relatives come to town to spend Thanksgiving with us. I cannot remember being home for this many days in a row and being allowed to be so leisure. I’m on day #3 of sleeping in late, and I have to say that there is a lot to be said to being well rested! I am actually relaxed, and wow!!!….it’s been a really long time since I’ve had a break like this.
I have always admired co-workers with a bit of envy when they’ve taken a few days off and just stayed at home. When I take time off, it is because we are going somewhere. I love travelling, but I always thought those who take days off with no plans are the most brilliant people in the world. I had no idea how right I was. They are beyond brilliant. Gosh, the last thing I do on my vacations is actually relax, and time off with no plans is a much appreciated pleasure.
My song of the day is a Christmas classic, as it is now officially Christmas season, as well. Perry Como’s “There’s No Place at Home for the Holidays” fits the bill perfectly for my blog today, because it is true….there really is no place like home! Click HERE to go to Youtube to hear this very sweet song, and hopefully, it will make you appreciate being at home today, too. Being at home is definitely not something to take for granted, as home is where the heart is!
