Oh! Last night was so much fun! We spent our first night of Hanukkah at my parent’s house for our annual family Hanukkah evening. It was really such a happy and joyous time spent together…..and just fun, fun, fun!
I’m in a hurry this morning, as Hanukkah time to a Jewish music specialist means lots and lots of performances. Today, I will be leading preschoolers – 2nd graders in performances at a Tucson show called “The Greatest Hanukkah on Earth.” This morning there is a big rehearsal, and tonight…show time!
Every year, I seem to pick up new Hanukkah songs. “Happy Joyous Hanukkah” is not really new. It’s just new to me, and I love it. The lyrics of the song were written by legendary folk artist, Woody Gurthrie, and they were later set to music by a band called The Klezmatics. I like a version of the song that I found by the Indigo Girls, however. So much fun and upbeat and energetic. So, that is my song of the day.
