Purple People Eater, #544

Standard

Last night was purple…..purple karate belt night that is! Yay for my little boy who received his purple belt in his mixed martial arts class. He and the rest of the “Kid Tigers” were so super cool receiving their new belts and celebrating their achievements, and I was filled with love and pride for each and every one of those awesome kiddos.

I want to give a high five and big shout out to the karate school. Black Belt 4 Life in Tucson is such a special place, and for any locals, I highly recommend it. I’ve written about them before in my blogs, but today, I want to give a personal shameless plug for them. Mr. V, owner and master teacher, is a true mentor for all of his students, and his super kid-friendly personality makes the class what it is. My son loves going to karate class, and I know that even the parents really enjoy our time there chatting with each other. Mr. V’s Black Belt 4 Life is a lovely little martial arts oasis in the desert, and if you’re looking for a karate school for either adults or children, you should go check it out. Now…..it is time to introduce the newest little purple-belted Kid Tiger. Here he is:

And here is he with his beloved teacher:

Of course, my song of the day has to be a very purpley little ditty, and it is. “The Purple People Eater” never ceases to bring a smile to my face, and I have taught this song to children all over Tucson. Click HERE to go to Youtube to hear Sheb Wooley sing the classic tune. Way to go to my little purple belt and to all of the rest of the Kid Tigers! This is one proud Mama!

About tucsonsongstress

I am a music teacher for children ages 6-weeks-old - 8th grade. I am also a camp songleader and a Jewish music specialist with and without my husband who is known as Shabbat Scott. We love singing with people of all ages all over Tucson. My "song of the day" idea originally started by playing music challenges on Facebook. I loved choosing songs, and my friends seemed to love reading and listening to my choices. I have decided to continue a daily blog (or as daily as I can manage) and tell you all some stories through some songs that have touched me either in wonderful ways or by annoying the heck out of me. Hope you all enjoy this blog! Happy singing!
