Hey You, #632

Standard

It has happened again. Another young friend has been diagnosed with cancer, and I am just sick for her. I won’t go into the details of her surgery and diagnosis in this blog today to maintain her privacy, but I am writing today in support of her….to let her know that there are prayers and tears and love being felt from many miles away.

I am imagining her lying in her hospital room recovering from a surgery with devastating news, and I wish I was there. I want to hug her and keep her mind off of the harrowing reality. I am so thankful that she has a man she deeply loves by her side, and it is comforting to know she’s in his good hands.

Perhaps I shouldn’t be blogging about this today. It’s too personal. There is nothing else on my mind today, however. I can think of little else. Sorry folks. Cancer really just sucks, and there is no way to sugar coat it.

My song of the day is Pink Floyd’s “Hey You,” because Roger Water’s voice singing “Don’t give in without a fight” is what’s running through my head today. Click HERE to go to YouTube to hear the song, and please keep my sweet friend in your prayers. She is a beautiful person.

About tucsonsongstress

I am a music teacher for children ages 6-weeks-old - 8th grade. I am also a camp songleader and a Jewish music specialist with and without my husband who is known as Shabbat Scott. We love singing with people of all ages all over Tucson. My "song of the day" idea originally started by playing music challenges on Facebook. I loved choosing songs, and my friends seemed to love reading and listening to my choices. I have decided to continue a daily blog (or as daily as I can manage) and tell you all some stories through some songs that have touched me either in wonderful ways or by annoying the heck out of me. Hope you all enjoy this blog! Happy singing!
