Yesterday I released my second “Songstress Spotlight” feature, and I have to say that this is a really fun project. I have interviewed two bands now: High Tyde from Brighton, England, and The Ridges from Athens, Ohio. Both bands have been great to work with, and I have loved immersing myself in their music.
I am crossing my fingers that the “Songstress Spotlight” becomes known in the underground music world, because I really love listening to new music and getting to know musicians. What an awesome process. In fact, if I had my life to live over, I quite possibly would have majored in journalism and camped out in front of the “Rolling Stones Magazine” offices in NYC until I could convince them to hire me.
Of course, part of my love for doing this is working with bands that are trying to get their music heard. There is something really nice about doing my part to help them out. When I was in college, I was in a rock band, and we were always doing whatever we could to get our music out there. This was way before the days of blogging, and there just weren’t many opportunities for just-starting-out-bands to be interviewed. That is why I thought up the concept.
So, I am looking forward to the next “Songstress Spotlight” band I get to work with. I have no idea who that might be, and this is why I am choosing this topic as my song of the day today. I want to write about more bands, and I need your help. If you know of any bands that you think I should write about, please send them my way. Here are a few links for you to share with them:

My song of the day today is just an example of incredible music that needs to be heard. “War Bonds” by The Ridges is an amazingly talented song, and this is why I love and want to continue with The Songstress Spotlight. Click HERE to watch a Youtube video of the song filmed by my Cousin Allie! Someone needs to sign this band! They are so awesome, and I know there is other music out there to share, too! So please, friends….pass along my info, and I will bring new and exciting music to all of you!
