Bad Bad Leroy Brown, #782

Today I have to write about a topic that is hard for me to write about.  I am a teacher, and I love all the children I teach from the bottom of my heart.  There is one child, however, and thank goodness I no longer teach him, that really tries my patience.  He is the classic definition of a problem child.

It is funny for me to express these words, because perhaps some people would say that my own child has issues, too.  Believe me, I am fully aware of my own situation, but when I look at this one kid, I just want to pull my hair out.

Here’s why this all really get to me, too.  My son, who has endless energy and can get out of control in certain situations, completely loses it when this other kid comes around.  He considers my son to be his friend, and I swear…it’s like he pulls my son into his bad behavior.  The most inappropriate I ever see my son is when this other kid is around.  I have done everything I can to keep them separated, but sometimes, it is just unavoidable, and this bad little boy has completely ruined many evenings out for us.

The kid’s mother does nothing to help the situation either.  It’s like she is completely checked out, and sometimes, I’ve even known her to wander off, and I’m left to deal with the boys alone.  It is so frustrating!

I was speaking to another Mom last night about the whole thing, and the other Mom was completely commiserating.  She feels the same way about this problem child boy, too,  and really…there is nothing any of us can do about the situation.  It is really unfortunate.

Okay…just had to get all of that off of my chest today, because my guess is that all Moms must have one kid who is like this in our lives.  We must all know someone who brings out the worst in our children, and frankly, I could really use the companionship of Mommyhood right about now.

My song of the day  is “Bad Bad Leroy Brown” by Jim Croce.  The lyric “baddest man in the whole damn town” is what I am feeling about this child.  Click HERE to hear the song on Youtube, and please feel free to chime in with suggestions or thoughts, because this is one situation that leaves me at a complete loss.  Help is sincerely requested from a very frustrated Mommy!
