The Year of the Cat, #971

Standard

Have you all seen the video of the cat saving a young boy from a dog attack?  It has gone viral on Youtube, and if you haven’t watched it yet, you really must.  Here it is.

My husband and I have  been discussing this story a lot.  What an amazing tale of heroic quick-on-the-spot thinking this is!  And the hero is a feline!!!!  This is the most unbelievable thing!

We have 3 cats.  They are all unique and special in their own way.

There’s Turtle Dove….

And Nutmeg….

And Wilber (our super kitty)

I love my cats, and I can’t help but wonder what would happen in the same circumstance with my kids.  Would any one of these cats try to save them?

Clearly, the cat in the video (Tara is her name) risked her own life to save that boy.  Her intention was obvious as that dog clamped down on the young child.  She pounced on the dog and then even chased him away.  This is the most special story, and when discussing the whole debate of dogs vs. cats — this is for sure score 1 for the kitties!

In honor of this incredible animal and her heroic tale, my song of the day is Al Stewart’s “The Year of the Cat,” because that cat needs and deserves a song of the day.  She is so special.

About tucsonsongstress

I am a music teacher for children ages 6-weeks-old - 8th grade. I am also a camp songleader and a Jewish music specialist with and without my husband who is known as Shabbat Scott. We love singing with people of all ages all over Tucson. My "song of the day" idea originally started by playing music challenges on Facebook. I loved choosing songs, and my friends seemed to love reading and listening to my choices. I have decided to continue a daily blog (or as daily as I can manage) and tell you all some stories through some songs that have touched me either in wonderful ways or by annoying the heck out of me. Hope you all enjoy this blog! Happy singing!
