Down in the Valley, #1134

Being sick is no fun!  My son came down with a bug that’s going around his school and was sent home last week, and of course, he had to spread it on to me.  Thanks a lot kid!  Fortunately, there was some home-made chicken soup in the freezer, and thank goodness for my hubby who ran out to get us Won Ton soup, too.  With broth consumed and liquids downed, this pesky bug is lingering on.  The question remains though – how sick is too sick to go to work?  I hate calling in.  There are people relying on me.  I’m off to the shower trying in all attempts to freshen myself up.  The final decision will come after my hair’s blow dried and make up is on, because good hair and a flawless face should make any girl feel good.  If that method doesn’t work, then I know for sure.

My song of the day is the old folk song “Down in the Valley,” because I know this song from the movie “Stir Crazy” with Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder.  Stir crazy is exactly what I feel, but hopefully I can muster up enough energy to break free from the sick jail!  Blechhh!

About tucsonsongstress

I am a music teacher for children ages 6-weeks-old - 8th grade. I am also a camp songleader and a Jewish music specialist with and without my husband who is known as Shabbat Scott. We love singing with people of all ages all over Tucson. My "song of the day" idea originally started by playing music challenges on Facebook. I loved choosing songs, and my friends seemed to love reading and listening to my choices. I have decided to continue a daily blog (or as daily as I can manage) and tell you all some stories through some songs that have touched me either in wonderful ways or by annoying the heck out of me. Hope you all enjoy this blog! Happy singing!
