A Dog Day Afternoon, #1213

I really love Facebook sometimes.  I really love that suddenly National Dog Day became a thing because of social media, and my Facebook newsfeed was littered with every breed of dog imaginable in the cutest poses all day long.  The fact of the matter is that dogs rule!  It’s no wonder that me and my friends are completely smitten with our fur babies.

National Dog Day got me thinking – are there other pet holidays I should know about – like for my kitties?  In fact there are!  There are too many pet holidays to write down in this blog today, so I’ll mention the ones that are standing out to me or you can CLICK HERE to be connected to DogTipper.com to be connected to their complete list.

As you know, yesterday, August 26th was national dog day.  We’ll carry on from here…

August 28th – National Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day

Last Week in September – National Dog Week

Every month has several days to appreciate your pets, so give them a little recognition.  After all, they are our loyal companions and deserve every ounce of love we can give them

Elton John’s song “Amoreena” was the opening credit song to a film called “Dog Day Afternoon” from 1975.  Yesterday was, for sure, a “dog day afternoon” across the board, so here you go….some Elton John, which is always a good thing – just like dogs.

About tucsonsongstress

I am a music teacher for children ages 6-weeks-old - 8th grade. I am also a camp songleader and a Jewish music specialist with and without my husband who is known as Shabbat Scott. We love singing with people of all ages all over Tucson. My "song of the day" idea originally started by playing music challenges on Facebook. I loved choosing songs, and my friends seemed to love reading and listening to my choices. I have decided to continue a daily blog (or as daily as I can manage) and tell you all some stories through some songs that have touched me either in wonderful ways or by annoying the heck out of me. Hope you all enjoy this blog! Happy singing!
